A.1 : Only the ignorant would quarrel about the supremacy of a particular form of God because one who has realized the greatness of God spends every moment in the meditation and devotion of God. As a matter of fact, what is the greatness of God? This subject is expounded Shreeji Maharaj in VACHANAMRUTA (first of Panchala) as follows:
"Man has more happiness than an animal, and the king has more happiness than a man. Gods are happier than kings. Indra is happier than gods and Brihaspati, Brahma, the inhabitants of Vaikuntha, the inhabitants of Goloka respectively, and the inhabitants of Akshardhama are happier than the previous ones respectively."
But those who indulge in such comparisons are found to be fully enjoying the pleasures of the five senses. For them such practice of devotion becomes just an exercise. So this is not a matter of discussion but that of faith alone. The choice-deity of everyone is the best so far as he is concerned.
Shreeji Maharaj induced many people in to Samadhi, the superconscious state on the spot at Mangrol, and bestowed upon the followers of Islam, Jainism and many such religions and sects the divine vision of their choice deities and showed them all these Forms of their choice deities re-entering and merging into Himself. To Parvatbhai, a great devoted landlord, He gave the vision of 24 incarnations of God supreme and else showed the merger of all these Forms within Himself. All these are the proofs of the supremacy of Shreeji Maharaj.
These proofs of the supremacy of Shreeji Maharaj cannot personally benefit us, except that they convince us about His supremacy.
What we first need is to be convinced about the omnipotence of Shree Hari but then we have to realize His greatness and surrender to Him with mind, words and actions and worship Him alone. Then only the realization of His supremacy would be worthwhile. A person may secure Ph.D. degree by deep study but if he does not use the same to earn his livelihood there from all his labour would be in vain.
No incarnation of Shree Hari should be looked upon as inferior because He has assumed all these incarnations just as an actor plays various roles. This is why Shikshapatri proclaims: BHEDO GNEYO NA SARVADA. The incarnation should not at all be considered, distinct from God Supreme.
So Shree Swaminarayan Bhagwan should be considered supreme and at the same time the incarnations should not be considered inferior. While worshipping Shree Hari, if we keep this truth in our mind, our worship to Him would remain in line with the scriptures and we would be obeying the commands of Shreeji Maharaj. If we do not stick up to this fundamental principle, there would be no end to difference of opinions.

ReplyDeleteI like this article, however, it does seem like those souls that were on this planet before Shreeji Maharaj came down to Earth, could not have possibly known about Swaminarayan Bhagwan and hence in no way go to Akshardham. Is this a result of them being unfortunate and being in the wrong place at the wrong time and are we truly blessed that we were born in an age after Lord Swaminaryan descended from Akshardham? I only ask because all they had was Ram Bhagwan or possibly Krishna Bhagwan? How would they enjoy the heavenly abode of Swaminarayan Bhagwan?
