  1. I know that Diwali is the festival of lights where these earthen lamps are used. These few lines are symbolic of good overcoming evil, brightness over darkness, and truth over falsity. These earthen lamps symbolize the supremacy and consequence of brightness over darkness. Lighting these earthen lamps eliminate the evils in the society and spread rays of happiness. I can also see how the earthen lamp is a metaphor for our body in which they are both physical structures that hold the oil and mind & spirit respectively. The oil for the lamp is the basis of the lamp working as the mind is the center station of our body. Without the oil and our mind, the lamp will not be able to be lit and our body will be in a standby mode. The wick which radiates light is symbolic of our spirit. Our spirits are bright and warm in which the flame emanates our precious soul full of life. When you look at a burning candle or lamp the flame can be an off white or white where this white represents purity and innocence. The burning of this flame can cleanse your spirit to make it pure and innocence again. It is by the grace of Lord Swaminarayan that this light burns bright with hope and love.
